Now health and safety has gone so mad that it is considered ok to spy on people at work in the name of safety. But is it about safety or is this just an excuse to control the workforce. Of course I am talking about vehicle tracking. This technology has been around for a while now, but it is only in the past couple of years that it has really started to take off.

Tracking is being used by businesses to help cut the costs of running a fleet and it is widely excepted by fleet managers as a very effective tool for doing this. While this is the real reason for introducing commercial vehicle tracking into businesses this is not the reason all companies give to their employees. Often companies push the safety aspect to try to relieve concerns of privacy.

However you see vehicle tracking, it is here to stay. There are of course positive sides to tracking. Insurance approved stolen vehicle tracking has only one purpose in mind and that is to recover the tracked vehicle if it were to be taken without consent.
