Caring for the car is not hard work. If diligent and careful the car can work satisfactorily. One component that must be checked regularly is the fluid in the car.

Car Fluids Check Car Fluids

Car Fluids

These fluids such as blood by human, when conditions are good, are sufficient and perfect circulation, and then the vehicle will work optimally. Checking the fluid is very easy and can be done to anyone. The first step is to prepare a clean cloth and place flat car park. Recommended, before an inspection, the car driven by a few km to the temperature and viscosity of fluid is normal / working.

In addition, it is suggested that any changes / additions fluid refers to the owner’s manual. Check the fluid to match the specific requirements of the recommendation. There are manuals include illustrations / instructions to perform the examination.

1. Check to see engine oil

This engine oil serves to lubricate all moving parts of machinery to be free of friction. Periodically inspect and replace the very-very-very important to maintain the Performance engine in optimum condition.

Needs to be done, first is to seek dipstick / shaft mounted on the engine oil. Not difficult, because its position is usually easy to find, or brightly colored handle. Pull the stems, clean the oil which stuck with clean cloth. At the bottom end there are usually two signs indicating “full” and “low”. Signs can be made, line, or the notch.

Insert dipstick to the hole then pulling back again. Note the limit of the visible oil there, when the limit above the limit of low oil means the volume within safe limits. If below the limit of “low” means must be added. Note also the color. A good oil golden brown, if black means time for replacement. Note also the thickness. Good oil is usually more viscous than oil.

Adding the oil can be done by filling through the top of the machine. There is a threaded cap that could be opened to fill the oil. Contents gradually, checked each time by dipping dipstick. Fill up on low line and not more than full, filling more than just adding a full workload of the machine.

2. Transmission oil

This fluid serves to lubricate the transmission components can gearshift process easy and smooth. This oil must be clean, pink, and there was no smell of burning. In some car models, the examination was conducted when the engine oil life. To make sure check your owner’s manual.

Same examination procedure by checking the engine oil, to distinguish between the dipsticks, the lever is different than the color, and the transmission oil dipstick is also longer. If oil is under the sign of the low oil must be added. On some cars can be done through the addition of a hole where the dipstick. Ensure through the manuals.

3. Radiator coolant

Radiator coolant is a mixture of water with additives that make a higher boiling point and freezing point much lower than water. This is to compensate for engine work to the extreme, usually green and viscosity as water.

Checking is done by considering the fluid reservoir container which is located next to the radiator. There is a lower and upper limit. Fluid must be above the lower limit. Add, if less.

If there is no container, the inspection must be done by opening the radiator cap. Beware, do not open the radiator cap when the engine heat. The hot water could gush out. Open it when the engine has cooled completely. When the fluid is approximately 1 inch below the neck, mean enough, it was added fewer than

4. Brake fluid

The fate of the brake that must not fail every time to work, imagine the consequences if it failed to work once. Working with hydraulic brake systems, where the master cylinder to pump fluid to the brakes to stop the car.

On output the new car, check the brake fluid can be done easily through the reservoir container which is situated on top the engine compartment. Normally, brake fluid will be reduced in line with the wear of the brake. These conditions are still safe as long as high oil brakes are not under the sign “low”. If you are under the sign, brake fluid need to be added, before opening the container, make sure the container clean of all dirt. Fill up the upper limit.

5. Power steering oil

To check the fluid, as easy as checking the radiator coolant, enough attention to the height of fluid in a container that is located in the engine compartment. Add if below the limit low. Fill full extent.

The liquid that dripped from the car can indicate the condition of the car. To check, put the newspaper under the car below the droplet. Type of fluid that drips can be known from its color.

Light green, pastel blue or orange means overheated engine or a coolant leak. There is a possibility of hose, water pump or radiator there is a problem. Stain red means there is leaking brake fluid or transmission. Solid brown or black means the engine oil leak. This may be a problem on gaskets. Clear fluids like water are not problematic because it comes from automobile air conditioning condensation.
