The BMW 5 Series Touring, now in its fourth generation, was officially unveiled at the recent Geneva Motor Show 2010.
The new German station wagon has important dimensions and offers the perfect blend of elegance, versatility and cargo capacity. During the first phase of market launch, the engine range of the BMW 5 Series Touring will be on four engines, two petrol and two diesels. They will be available: the 520d Touring driven by four-cylinder common-rail turbo diesel with 184 hp with start / stop number; Touring the 535th from 306 hp to 204 hp from the 523rd Touring and 530d Touring 245 hp, the latter available request with the BMW Blue Performance technology that already meets Euro 6 emission standards.
All engines comply with adopted on the 5 Series Touring meet Euro 5 and, on request, be matched to the 8-speed automatic transmission. Be noted that the full range of versions BMW 5 Series Touring is equipped as standard with BMW Efficient Dynamics measures, which include, depending on the model chosen, the energy recovery during braking, the Start / Stop function, the ‘optimum shift point indicator, the command of the secondary groups according to need and regulation of active vents. Like the 5 Series Sedan, 5 Series touring also offers standard or optional, many technological devices designed to improve passenger comfort and safety while driving.
Among these are noteworthy: the Driving Dynamic Control (optional) that lets you adjust the trim of the car according to the preferences of the driver, the Connected Drive (optional) that includes a range of driver assistance systems, as the Assistant Park, the ‘Warning of risk of tampon or inadvertent lane change, the flag dangerous overtaking, BMW Night Vision with detection of people and much more. The new 5 Series Touring BMW will be available in dealerships from September.
